Project Spotlight
El Jefe’s -The Silver Legacy
This project was completed for El Jefe’s restaurant inside the Silver Legacy Casino in Reno, Nevada, where the goal was to create an atmosphere that felt weathered, industrial, and richly layered—evoking the character of an old ship dock brought indoors.
The brick walls were treated with FauxTex by Faux Effects using an antiquing technique to support that vision and was paired with visual elements like aged wood crates and smoke-worn surfaces that give the space a lived-in, timeworn feel.
In addition to that, we added a smoke-stained effect was hand-painted using a custom-tinted glazing medium, allowing the walls to carry subtle depth and variation. A bespoke stencil was created for the large EL JEFE lettering, rendered in blackened rust tones, and a rusted patina was applied to the lamps to further reinforce the industrial character of the space.
Finally, at the POS stations, a custom Crescent Creamery graphic was introduced as a nod to Reno’s first historic dairy. The Eldorado team requested an aged treatment, and the finish was carefully developed to honor that history while blending seamlessly into the overall environment.
